Plastic & Low thermal budget coatings

Thermal budget constraints in deposition processes are found more and more often due to limitations posed by advanced devices or delicate substrates like plastics such as polyamide, polycarbonate, ABS, PET and other thermoplastic polymers that would not sustain high deposition temperatures.

IJD fast pulsed plasma process allows a dramatic reduction of thermal energy generation and consequent substrate heating compared to thermal evaporation, e-beam evaporation and sputtering maintaining an optimal ion energy at the substrate surface and deposition rate.
